🩺 By Dr Bhavini Patel & Dr Nick Mulrenan — 29 October 2025
We’re delighted to launch our new doctor-led clinic here in Ware, Hertfordshire — and, with it, this space where we’ll share updates, insights, and stories from our work in iron care.
In this first post, we’d like to share how and why The Iron Infusion Centre began.
We founded The Iron Infusion Centre after seeing so many patients held back by low iron — people who couldn’t tolerate tablets, were facing long waits or simply weren't eligible for IV treatment on our public system. As GPs, we often met those struggling with fatigue, breathlessness, or brain fog that wasn’t being taken seriously, even when low iron was a clear factor.
It was frustrating to see patients told there wasn’t much that could be done. Too many were left to cope with symptoms that were completely reversible with the right care.
We realised we could help change that. By combining our GP approach — thorough assessment and safe, evidence-based treatment — with timely access to IV iron, we set out to bridge the gap between traditional healthcare and the practical support patients truly need.
Every patient we see is assessed holistically. We review your history, blood results, and overall wellbeing before recommending treatment. We don’t follow a one-size-fits-all protocol; dosing, product choice, and follow-up are tailored to you.
Our aim is to create a calm, clinical environment where patients can receive intravenous iron safely, efficiently, and with personal attention from experienced doctors. Every aspect of the service — from the consultation to the infusion itself — has been designed to make treatment straightforward and reassuring.
We’ve seen firsthand that iron deficiency can affect anyone — men and women, at any stage of life. We help adults whose low iron levels arise from many causes, including dietary gaps, high-impact exercise, post-partum depletion, or reduced absorption within the gut.
Many of the people we see have tried tablets for months, even years, without feeling better — or have struggled with unpleasant side effects.
If you’ve been told your iron or ferritin is low, or you simply feel persistently tired and suspect iron might be the reason, we can review your results and guide you through the best next steps to help restore your energy.
Our goal is simple: to restore your iron — and your energy — safely, efficiently, and compassionately. We believe modern healthcare should feel both professional and personal — delivered with the precision of medicine and the warmth of genuine care.
In future posts, we’ll be sharing a wide range of insights — from understanding iron health and treatment options to updates and perspectives from our clinical work. Our aim is to make this space a useful resource for anyone interested in restoring their energy and learning more about modern iron care.
